About Atocha Hostels & Pensions:
The area around the Plaza de Atocha - also known as the Glorieta de Carlos V - is one of Madrid's busiest because of the adjacent Atocah Renfe Train Station and the famous Reina Sofia Museum. It's also the confluence of the Calle de Atocha and Paseo del Prado from Cibeles. Atocha is also very near the Retiro Park and the Prado Museum. There are two metro stations, "Atocha" and "Atocha Renfe". This area has many hostels (called "hostales" in Spanish) and pensions but few have websites. Still, I've made a complete directory/list of them below for those whom are seeking safe, clean, inexpensive places to stay. Afterall, you're not there to sleep - although everyone wants to sleep cheap in Madrid. |
